The plasma screen television has been wowing people since it first became available. And why not? These televisions were much more pleasant to look at, with their slim and flat frame, than the outdated versions which took up far more room. The lean quality of the plasma screen television makes it much more flexible. Both the ceiling and the wall make great hanging spots for this type of ceiling, for example. With this feature, the plasma screen is also popular in showcases and other similar functions since it is very handy and does not take up much space.
Comparing the technology in the older types of television with the newer plasma screen models is always an interesting task. The older sets used cathode ray tubes, or CRT, to produce images, while the plasma screen television does not. The amount of space required to house a television in the pre-plasma era is mostly to blame on the CTR that was included. Rather than employ CRT, the plasma screen television is composed of neon-xenon gas into tiny glass cells. This gas is then suspended in plasma and when electrically charged it can strike phosphors colored blue, green, and red. Through the eruption of the phosphors, an image is made.
Because of the size of a plasma screen television, many people are inspired to buy them for that reason alone. This may have a negative effect if you are blinded by the capabilities. The typical range of sizes for a plasma screen television would be: 32″, 40″, 42″, 46″, 50″, 61″, or 63″. Always take into consideration the size of the room where you will be putting it. The immense size of these sets will make the television an imposing figure in the entertainment room, so you should put it somewhere that is appropriate.
Most of us have heard from our mothers that sitting too close to the TV can be dangerous. If you have a 32 to 37-inch, then stay back from six to ten feet. However, if you are going a little larger, with a 42-46 inch set, then increase your distance to ten to fourteen feet. For people who will buy the plasma measuring 50-inch or more, it is better to stay at a distance of 15 feet. A full distance of 25 feet (or more) should be observed with a TV that is 60 inches or greater.
