46′ plasma tvs

The draw of the plasma screen television was instantly apparent from the moment that it became available to the public. When viewed next to the heavier models that took up more room, the thin and flat new model was definitely an upgrade. In getting a new plasma screen television, you were getting a leaner and much more flexible model than the televisions that came before them. What this means is that you had greater choice in where to place your new television, including the wall or the ceiling. This is a function that made the plasma screen a popular showcase design, as many showcase rooms could show a greater number of models off at a much lower price than the bulkier models that came before them.

So what is the technology behind such a radical advancement in the way we enjoy our favorite shows and movies? Images are not produced in the plasma screen television through any cathode ray tubes, or CRT. The need to consume so much space that the older models had was due to their reliance on CTR. The plasma screen television instead is composed of multiple glass “cell” compartments that are full of a gas called neon-xenon. This gas is then suspended in plasma and when electrically charged it can strike phosphors colored blue, green, and red. It is because of the phosphorus, which erupts, that an image is produced.

Because of the size of a plasma screen television, many people are inspired to buy them for that reason alone. While size can be a nice benefit, you can reap negative benefits through letting size blind you to the bigger picture. The typical range of sizes for a plasma screen television would be: 32″, 40″, 42″, 46″, 50″, 61″, or 63″. Always take into consideration the size of the room where you will be putting it. The immense size of these sets will make the television an imposing figure in the entertainment room, so you should put it somewhere that is appropriate.

Most of us have heard from our mothers that sitting too close to the TV can be dangerous. People with a 32-37 inch TV should sit back at least six to ten feet. If you are looking for a set that is 42-46 inches, then you should go with 10-14 feet. A full fifteen feet should be the distance that you keep from a 50-60 inch set. An incredible distance of 25 feet is recommended for TVs that measure more than 60 inches.
