50 lg 50pg20 plasma tv

The plasma screen television is an item that many people fell in love with from the very start. When viewed next to the heavier models that took up more room, the thin and flat new model was definitely an upgrade. Another major benefit of the plasma screen television was that they offered more choices in how they could be integrated into the room. For instance, you can either mount it up your wall or let it hang from the ceiling. This space saving feature made the newer model a favorite in showcases and other similar display arenas.

Plasma televisions require a completely different type of technology than the older models. Images are not produced in the plasma screen television through any cathode ray tubes, or CRT. The fact that most pre-plasma televisions used CTR is exactly why so many of them took up so much space. As a replacement for the space-consuming CRT, the plasma screen television uses tiny glass compartments (or “cells”) that are injected with neon-xenon, which is a gas. You have the neon-xenon which is then suspended in the plasma and strikes blue, green, and red colored phosphors whenever it becomes charged with electricity. An image results when the phosphors errupt.

Because of the size of a plasma screen television, many people are inspired to buy them for that reason alone. If you focus on these features exclusively, however, you are inviting unpleasant counter-effects. Bigger isn’t necessarily better for a plasma screen television, though they typically run the range from being 32″ all the way up to 63″. People do this without thinking about how large their room size for the television is going to be. You’re going to have to remember size of the room and placement of the set in comparison to where you want to sit, since the sets will be large enough even if you get the smallest size.

With the risk of sounding like your mother, several figures can be cited in order to raise one’s consciousness about the dangers of sitting too close to the TV. People with a 32-37 inch TV should sit back at least six to ten feet. TV sets that are 42-46 inch should command a distance of 10 to 14 feet. People buying a plasma that is 50 inches, or greater, need to stay back at least 15 feet. For the very large televisions – ones that measure at least 60 inches – you should stay back twenty five feet or more.
