bookshelves for plasma tv

From the beginning, when the plasma screen television hit the market, everyone was in awe. This is understandable, as the thin and flat make of this style of TV is much different from the bulky and outdated versions. Another major benefit of the plasma screen television was that they offered more choices in how they could be integrated into the room. The newer model allows you to suspend from the ceiling or mount on the wall. Not only did homeowners love this feature, but so too did many showcase rooms, who featured the newer model heavily, as it required far less space than the older models.

What type of technology creates such a radical advance in our movie and television viewing? There is no use of the old image-producing standby, cathode ray tubes (CRT) in a plasma screen television. The technology behind CTR is the reason that many TV models before were always so big and bulky. Rather than employ CRT, the plasma screen television is composed of neon-xenon gas into tiny glass cells. You have the neon-xenon which is then suspended in the plasma and strikes blue, green, and red colored phosphors whenever it becomes charged with electricity. It is because of the phosphorus, which erupts, that an image is produced.

More often than not, people buy a plasma screen television because of its sheer size. This may have a negative effect if you are blinded by the capabilities. However, do not concede that bigger is always better. It’s essential to remember how large the television room is going to be. Picking a decent sized set – not necessarily the largest – will still give you a television whose presence will be impressive in most anyone’s entertainment room, and placing it in an appropriate place is important.

If you don’t avoid sitting too close to the television, you can wind up with a number of health problems. For any television that is 32″-37″, you should maintain a space of at least 6-10 feet. TV sets that are 42-46 inch should command a distance of 10 to 14 feet. If you go with a plasma set that is anywhere from 50 to 60 inches, you will need to allow for a berth of at least 15 feet. And for sets measuring up to 60-inch and more, a distance of at least 25 feet should be observed.
