Everyone was instantly mesmerized by the plasma screen television when it became available. Unsurprisingly, many people simply preferred the newer model’s thin and flat look to that of the old, bulkier model. Because the plasma screen television is leaner than the average set, it proved to be more flexible. Their increased flexibility allowed them greater places to store and hang the television, such as from the wall or from the ceiling, thus increasing space. For this reason, the plasma screen enjoyed even more popularity than the old-time models in homes and in showcase rooms.
Comparing the technology in the older types of television with the newer plasma screen models is always an interesting task. Images are not produced in the plasma screen television through any cathode ray tubes, or CRT. The technology behind CTR is the reason that many TV models before were always so big and bulky. Instead of the CRT, the plasma screen television is comprised of cells or glass compartments injected with a gas called neon-xenon. You have the neon-xenon which is then suspended in the plasma and strikes blue, green, and red colored phosphors whenever it becomes charged with electricity. Images are produced through the phosphors, which erupts to cause the desired effect.
It is not uncommon for people to buy a plasma screen television for the size feature. You invite negative consequences if you allow yourself to be unaware of the full aspects of these features. Bigger isn’t necessarily better for a plasma screen television, though they typically run the range from being 32″ all the way up to 63″. People do this without thinking about how large their room size for the television is going to be. With the size of these sets, it will be an imposing figure in your entertainment room and so it is important to put it where you think it is appropriate.
You’ll want to avoid sitting too close to the television screen, as it can cause several harmful health defects. If you have a 32 to 37-inch, then stay back from six to ten feet. For those who will buy a 42 to 46-inch, a distance of 10 to 14 feet can help. People buying a plasma that is 50 inches, or greater, need to stay back at least 15 feet. A full distance of 25 feet (or more) should be observed with a TV that is 60 inches or greater.
