lcd versus plasma tv

Everyone was instantly mesmerized by the plasma screen television when it became available. It was only natural that people would view the newer televisions, which were thin and flat, over the outdated and bulky ones they were used to buying. Another major benefit of the plasma screen television was that they offered more choices in how they could be integrated into the room. You have, for example, the option to either mount it on the wall or hang it from the ceiling. This space saving feature made the newer model a favorite in showcases and other similar display arenas.

Comparing the technology in the older types of television with the newer plasma screen models is always an interesting task. Unlike the average set, the plasma screen television does not use cathode ray tubes (CRT) in producing its images. The amount of space required to house a television in the pre-plasma era is mostly to blame on the CTR that was included. Instead of the CRT, the plasma screen television is comprised of “cells” or glass compartments injected with a gas called neon-xenon. Red, green, and blue colors can result from an electrically charged gas that is suspended in plasma. Through the eruption of the phosphors, an image is made.

It is not uncommon for people to buy a plasma screen television for the size feature. If you focus on these features exclusively, however, you are inviting unpleasant counter-effects. The typical range of sizes for a plasma screen television would be: 32″, 40″, 42″, 46″, 50″, 61″, or 63″. The main consideration is what the room size for the television will be. With the size of these sets, it will be an imposing figure in your entertainment room and so it is important to put it where you think it is appropriate.

With the risk of sounding like your mother, several figures can be cited in order to raise one’s consciousness about the dangers of sitting too close to the TV. A distance of six to ten feet is recommended for anyone with a set that is 32-37 feet. For those who will buy a 42 to 46-inch, a distance of 10 to 14 feet can help. For people who will buy the plasma measuring 50-inch or more, it is better to stay at a distance of 15 feet. If you get a super large set that measures more than sixty inches, you need to keep at least a 25 feet distance.
