longevity of plasma tv

The draw of the plasma screen television was instantly apparent from the moment that it became available to the public. Who wouldn’t want one of the new, thin, and flat versions of the TV instead of the thick, bulky, and outdated ones? Because of their new build, the plasma screen television were more flexible, and therefore more desirable. Their increased flexibility allowed them greater places to store and hang the television, such as from the wall or from the ceiling, thus increasing space. Because of these reasons, showcases loved putting the plasma screen on display, since it took up so little space.

What type of technology creates such a radical advance in our movie and television viewing? The plasma screen television does not utilize any CRT (cathode ray tubes) in order to make its images. It was because of the CTR that most of the television models were so large. Tiny glass compartments, or cells, are injected with a gas called neon-xenon, which is used instead of CRT in a plasma screen television. Through the plasma, the gas is suspended. After the phosphors erupt, and image is produced.

Many times, people purchase a plasma screen television due to its sheer impressive size. However, these features may have some counter-effect if consumers let themselves be blinded by its capabilities. A plasma screen television can be 32″, 40″, 42″, 46″, 50″, 61″, or even 63″, and bigger is not always better. It’s essential to remember how large the television room is going to be. The immense size of these sets will make the television an imposing figure in the entertainment room, so you should put it somewhere that is appropriate.

Most of us have heard from our mothers that sitting too close to the TV can be dangerous. It’s important for people with 32-37 inch sets to keep their distance a comfortable 6-10 feet. For those who will buy a 42 to 46-inch, a distance of 10 to 14 feet can help. If you go with a plasma set that is anywhere from 50 to 60 inches, you will need to allow for a berth of at least 15 feet. An incredible distance of 25 feet is recommended for TVs that measure more than 60 inches.
