When the plasma screen television first became available, it instantly began to attract people’s interest. And who would not be? The thin and flat countenance of the TV is a sharp contrast to the bulky and rather outdated versions of this home appliance. The lean quality of the plasma screen television makes it much more flexible. The newer model allows you to suspend from the ceiling or mount on the wall. Due to its incredible space saving design, this newer model was an immediate favorite among many showcases.

What type of technology creates such a radical advance in our movie and television viewing? There is no use of the old image-producing standby, cathode ray tubes (CRT) in a plasma screen television. The technology behind CTR is the reason that many TV models before were always so big and bulky. Rather than employ CRT, the plasma screen television is composed of neon-xenon gas into tiny glass cells. Through the plasma, the gas is suspended. An image results when the phosphors errupt.

You may know people who have purchased a plasma screen television due simply to the size alone. If you focus on these features exclusively, however, you are inviting unpleasant counter-effects. The typical range of sizes for a plasma screen television would be: 32″, 40″, 42″, 46″, 50″, 61″, or 63″. A major thing that most people don’t stop and think about is the size of the room they are going to be storing the television in. With the size of these sets, it will be an imposing figure in your entertainment room and so it is important to put it where you think it is appropriate.

Many different studies have been cited that show the dangers of sitting too close to the TV. For any television that is 32″-37″, you should maintain a space of at least 6-10 feet. You can decrease your probability of getting a health disease with a 42 to 46 machine if you keep at least a ten to fourteen feet distance from the machine. Additionally, a recommended length of fifteen feet should be kept away from a fifty inch plasma set. A full distance of 25 feet (or more) should be observed with a TV that is 60 inches or greater.
